The SEMAPI viewpoint about predictive maintenance and its insertion into the maintenance organization.

Philosophy: The predictive maintenance is a great tool for diagnosis, but it is just a part of the solution. If we want an EFFICIENT maintenance, we must integrate different activities, in order to set up a methodology:

MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING
All the qualified areas must work as a teamwork, with the same goals, in order to achieve the following objetives:
a) Avoid an emergency.
b) Increase the rotating machinery´s useful life, optimising the quality and the lubrication of the equipment.

In order to achieve overall efficiency in maintenance, is required to provide continuing training reaching all the parties. The three areas shall be covered by these efforts at the same time. Covering one or two out of the three is futile and shall not provide the sought general result.

SEMAPI is working on these innovative techniques for the last 30 years, when routine testing was recently implemented for just a few companies. SEMAPI is one of the few argentinian companies with ISO 9001-2000 certification, which is renewed year by year, based on our experience and constant technical innovation on predictive maintenance.
